In thinking and talking about your past, and how it affects you today, you're not blaming your parents at all. They had a disease; you all lived with the disease, and you did the best you could with it. There's no question you'll feel better about your parents, and much better about yourself, when you begin understanding alcoholism. You're not wishing that you're past had been different you're insuring that you're future will be.
